CCL6 Preview

The Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6) preview was held today to allow members of the public to familiarise themselves with the 3 new stations being added to the line. Free rides on the sector were held as part of the public preview. If you haven't heard, SG MRT Construction (SGMC) is holding a short contest where you'll be able to win credits at online shops such as knackstop and Play-E_hobbies. Find out more about SGMC's CCL6 contest here. The contest closes on 13 July, so you still have time to submit an entry after the sector opens on 12 July to participate. Let's now recap a little about the 3 stations along CCL6.

The long awaited missing segment of the Circle Line (CCL) - phase 6 - is about to open on 12 July 2026, with a preview event on 4 July 2026 (hoorah?). Finally, there will be an end to the perpetual question from literal commuters "Why is it called the Circle Line when it is not a circle?". Before then, we catch up with the progress at the three stations and one cut & cover tunnel contract to see how much work is left to be completed before preview & opening days. If you weren't excited enough for the new phase, this post may just help with that.

With a few more months to go till the sixth stage of the Circle Line (CCL) is due to open, we check in on progress in the middle of Q1 to see how far the stations have come along. Most of the exits have since been installed with the public transport logo caplet sign and station name signs have been appearing at the various exits. Find out more after the jump.

Happy New Year 2026! (CCL6 version)

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! This year is looking to be a momentous year with lots of rail stations scheduled to open. The first of these is slated to be the final stage of the Circle Line (CCL) - stage 6 - that bridges the gap between HarbourFront and Marina Bay stations. Enough of those "why is it called the Circle Line when it is not a circle?" questions. It's finally becoming a circle. But before we get there, here are some early looks at the interiors of Keppel and Cantonment stations. They look good. Major thanks to @stormfire_transport for the heads up.

To wrap up the end of the year, we're doing a short "Spotlight" series for the Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6). In this series, we'll look at the progress made at the various CCL6 stations through the course of the year. We began this series with our first post on Keppel station, so we'll now be moving onto the second station along the section of line - Cantonment.

To wrap up the end of the year, we're doing a short "Spotlight" series for the Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6). In this series, we'll look at the progress made at the various CCL6 stations through the course of the year. For the first entry, we're kicking things off with none other than Keppel station.

CCL - Signage revisited

 

11 October 2025 - Updated wayfinding signage at Promenade station.

The roll out of the next generation of signage along the Circle Line (CCL) ahead of its Stage 6 opening next year has commenced. Starting with Promenade station, the signage update exercise has expanded to other stations with reports of the signs being spotted at Nicoll Highway, Dakota and Paya Lebar coming in. The changes are rather drastic from the previous versions used along the line, with the full route map being displayed on the Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) and station name signs displayed over the door opening instead of in between them.

CCL6 - A snapshot in October 2025

Station exits clad - check. Station structures painted - check. LED train arrival timing boards installed - check. Lights on - check! Station name signs - che... Oops! These are some of the items that have been marked off at the various stage 6 stations along the Circle Line's stage 6 (CCL6). Since September, the rest of the line has undergone early closures & late openings to commence the process of integrating the extension with the rest of the loop.

With the Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6) section targeted for completion in the first half of 2026, we took the opportunity to check in on progress made on the 3 new stations along the 4km link. Works at the three stations are in the semi-final stages, with structural works since completed and installation of architectural finishings underway. Commuter facilities such as sheltered bus stops and pick-up/drop-off points are being constructed to support connectivity at the stations. Join us as we take a better look at all the progress made thus far after the jump.

CCL6 - Signage preview & Feedback

 

Free this weekend? Looking for a weekend activity? The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is holding a preview for wayfinding signage ahead of deployment along the Circle Line (CCL) when the loop closes. LTA is seeking for your feedback on these signages ahead of deployment. On 14 to 17 March (Friday to Monday), the CCL platform B at Promenade station will be host to some of these signages. Do drop by if you're free to take a look and provide LTA with your views on the new signage for the full loop.

With the Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6) due to open by the first half of 2026, we're about a year and a half away from the section's completion. Most of the stations' exits have had the roof structures installed and works were transitioning towards the completion of architectural, mechanical & electrical components. We take a closer look at the progress made at the various stations and sites along the project after the jump.

Looks like it has been some time since we made an update on Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6). Since our last update the most significant milestone would be the decommissioning of the temporary staging area for trackworks - more on that later. The various stations also have seen installation of escalators completed at 8 of the eligible exits, while the remaining exit will feature lift-only access.

Over August 2024, progress at the Circle Line 6 sites has seen work commence or continue on the roof of 7 of the 9 station exits. At this point, escalators had been installed in 7 of the 8 exits requiring their use as well. Additionally, noise barriers had begun to be taken down at Prince Edward Road, following similar works at Keppel before. More details after the jump.

Works for the Circle Line (CCL)'s Stage 6 main line continues to advance. In July, headway was made through the installation of escalators at Keppel station, the casting of roof slabs for Exits 1 & 2 at Cantonment station and the installation of metal roof frames at Prince Edward Road station. Over at the site of the cut & cover tunnels, work continued ahead of the eventual reinstatement of the roads in the vicinity.

5 May 2024 - An overview of the temporary staging area for trackworks and the tunnels linking
to Marina Bay station.

The last contract along the Circle Line 6 (CCL6) mainline is contract 886 for the construction of cut & cover tunnels between Prince Edward Road and Marina Bay stations. Work here has been swiftly completed with the backfilling works done. Trackworks are also progressing well within the Temporary Staging Area (TSA), located at the turnback tunnel.

In the three months since our last visit to Prince Edward Road station, the escalators have been installed at the two station exits. The ventilation shaft and cooling tower buildings have also made progress with most of the structures completed. We take a quick look at the progress made over the past 3 months in this post.

C883 - Cantonment update May 2024

In the three months since our last visit to Cantonment station, there have been several changes. First of all, the platform canopies for the former railway station's platforms have been moved back into their original positions entirely. Secondly, the cooling tower structure is taking place with the metal frame for the louvres and roof put in place. And thirdly, the street-level surface structures of the various exits are beginning to take shape. We delve into the progress made in greater detail in this post.

C882 - Keppel update May 2024

 Three months since we last checked in at Keppel station, things have progressed - as they rightly should. Backfilling works of the station site were completed with several of the street level surface structures now visible. Noise barriers near Exits 1 and 2 have also been taken down, now that the noisier works have been completed. The disappearance of these barriers allows closer looks at the station's construction as work on the exits progress.

It's been a while since we caught up with the progress being made over at the Circle Line 6 stations. As such, we're bring you an early update on the goings on in the early part of May, since our last update on the section was in February.
