5 May 2024 - An aerial view of the Prince Edward Road station. |
In the three months since our last visit to Prince Edward Road station, the escalators have been installed at the two station exits. The ventilation shaft and cooling tower buildings have also made progress with most of the structures completed. We take a quick look at the progress made over the past 3 months in this post.

Exit 1
The station exit located along Shenton Way has had its escalators installed. The remaining concrete structures are virtually the same with no noticeable differences.

Escape shaft
An escape shaft for emergency evacuation from the stacked tunnels is located at the junction of Cantonment and Keppel Roads. The escape shaft basic structure is likely complete with fitting works to commence soon.

With most of the station structures completed and escalators since installed, the remaining works are likely to continue to create the roof structures for the exits. Once these are completed, works will shift towards the installation of mechanical, electrical and architectural components.
