CCL6 - A snapshot in July 2024

A view of the 4 main line contracts for Circle Line's Stage 6 as of end-July 2024.
Top (L - R) : CC30 - Keppel, CC31 - Cantonment
Bottom (L - R) : CC32 - Prince Edward Road, Contract 886 - Cut & Cover tunnels

Works for the Circle Line (CCL)'s Stage 6 main line continues to advance. In July, headway was made through the installation of escalators at Keppel station, the casting of roof slabs for Exits 1 & 2 at Cantonment station and the installation of metal roof frames at Prince Edward Road station. Over at the site of the cut & cover tunnels, work continued ahead of the eventual reinstatement of the roads in the vicinity.

CC30 - Keppel station (Contract 882)
In a nutshell: Several escalators were installed at the station's various exits through the month, notably at Exits 2 and 3. Exit 1 does not have any escalators installed as yet. Also observed were several metal roof frames being installed at Exit 3, artistically shaped like tree trunks with branches overhead.

CC31 - Cantonment (Contract 883)
In a nutshell: Works continued to make progress at the station, with Exits 1 and 2 having the concrete roof slabs over the lift shafts cast. Also cast were the various ventilation structures above the connecting subways between exits or cooling towers with the main station box. Escalators were since installed at Exit 4.

CC32 - Prince Edward Road (Contract 885)
In a nutshell: This station appears to be one with the exits at the furthest stage of construction among the 3 stations being added to the line. Both exits received the metal roof frames, having completed escalator installation. Work was also underway to tidy up the remaining station site areas with backfilling completed.

Cut & Cover tunnels in Marina Bay (Contract 886)
In a nutshell: Work continued with the paving of the future permanent roadways connecting to and from the Marina Coastal Expressway. Works at the temporary staging area for trackworks also appeared to ramp down somewhat, given that rail installation was likely to have been completed. With the rails installed, works can move onto the installation of other components such as cabling, third rails and walkways.
