Circle Line 6 Construction: CCL6 - A snapshot in October 2024

Looks like it has been some time since we made an update on Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6). Since our last update the most significant milestone would be the decommissioning of the temporary staging area for trackworks - more on that later. The various stations also have seen installation of escalators completed at 8 of the eligible exits, while the remaining exit will feature lift-only access.

CC30 - Keppel (Contract 882)
In a nutshell: All three exits were having the metal roof frame installed and were at various stages of progress. Exit 3 was the one furthest along, with sections of the roof paneling already installed, while Exits 1 & 2 were still focused on assembly of the frame.

CC31 - Cantonment (Contract 883)
In a nutshell: All three of the station's exits with escalators have had the equipment installed. Exit 1, a lift-only exit, has since had its concrete roof cast. Otherwise, Exit 4 is the other exit that is furthest along - located next to the former Railway Station building, the roof frame has begun seeing the installation of roof panels. Exit 3 is the most recent to be equipped with escalators, hence roof frame works have not yet begun here.

CC32 - Prince Edward Road (Contract 885)
In a nutshell: With backfilling completed, a service road is being constructed above the station. Architectural works were also underway at the station's 2 exits while the ventilation buildings were being prepped for cladding installation.

Cut & Cover tunnels between Prince Edward Road & Marina Bay (Contract 886)
In a nutshell: While work continued on the preparation of the permanent slip roads connecting the Marina Coastal Expressway with Straits Boulevard, decommissioning of the temporary staging area for trackworks was ongoing. This means that track related installation works have been largely completed for the project. Gantry cranes formerly used at the site have since been disassembled and segmentalised, ready for transport to the next project.
