CCL6 Newsletter 2023

 


Today, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) released the fifth Circle Line 6 newsletter. In this edition, maps featuring the stations renumbered exits were included in. Several small general updates are also provided within. In summary, station structural works are substantially completed with the works now shifting towards the construction of station exits at street level, the architectural components and mechanical installations.

Did you know that the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been releasing several newsletters on the Circle Line 6 (CCL6) project since 2019? Well, neither did we! Nonetheless, we managed to get the digital copies of the 4 newsletters produced to date.

Kim Chuan depot expansion: Road diversion

Contract 821A for the expansion of Kim Chuan depot has been in progress for some time. Excavation works have commenced at the site which is bordered by Bartley Road East and Hougang Avenue 3, located north of the existing depot site.

Circle Line 6 Project Information Centre


Recently Minister for Transport Mr. Khaw Boon Wan shared a post introducing the Circle Line 6 Project Information Centre (PIC) which was officially opened. The Project Information Centre is located along Spottiswoode Road in front of the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and is open to the public on a walk-in basis, unlike some other centres which require prior bookings and arrangements (for example the Thomson-East Coast Line stage 3 PIC at Orchard station).

Pre-qualification

Pre-qualification for Circle Line stage 6 civil contracts by LTA
On Monday, the Land Transport Authority released the pre-qualification tender for 5 civil contracts for the construction of Circle Line stage 6. The 5 contracts involve the construction of the Kim Chuan depot extension and Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward stations along with the connecting tunnel structures.

Contract for Circle Line Depot planning

The contract for planning of the Circle Line Depot has been awarded to TY Lin International. Under this contract, Kim Chuan Depot will be expanded to house 130 trains, up from the current 77 trains permissible.
