Kim Chuan depot expansion: Road diversion

Contract 821A for the expansion of Kim Chuan depot has been in progress for some time. Excavation works have commenced at the site which is bordered by Bartley Road East and Hougang Avenue 3, located north of the existing depot site.

26 November 2018 - Western end of the Kim Chuan depot extension.

9 June 2019 - Western end of the Kim Chuan depot extension.

26 November 2018 - Ground preparation work ongoing at the site.

9 June 2019 - Excavation works commenced below temporary decking.

26 November 2018 - Hougang Avenue 3 visible in the mid-ground.

9 June 2019 - Rebar cage installation for column casting. Hougang Avenue 3 visible behind.

Following a diversion of the northbound Hougang Avenue 3, the southbound lanes will also be diverted come 23 June 2019. The Land Transport Authority has issued an advisory to motorists to note the upcoming changes.

The diversion is expected to be in place through the first quarter of 2020 to facilitate excavation works as part of contract 821A. The entire contract is expected to be completed by end 2026.
