February 2019 - Keppel station progress

Contract 882 is for the construction of Keppel station and tunnels for Circle Line stage 6. The assigned contractor is a joint venture between China State Construction Engineering Co (CSCEC) & Nishimatsu. Both contractors in this joint venture have been involved in MRT construction locally before with projects on the Downtown and Circle Lines.

Since the contract award on 8 September 2017, the worksite has undergone several changes. In order to free up sufficient space for construction, the old buildings belonging to the port authority were cleared.

06 November 2013 - Old port authority buildings. These have been
cleared so as to make space for the Keppel station.
Subsequently, by January 2018 site clearing had begun with trees being cut down. Heavy equipment was also delivered on site in preparation of construction work commencing.

Since then, construction works have begun in earnest. Diaphragm wall construction is in progress for the main station box. The site for entrance C has also been cleared and noise barriers are being installed.

According to The Straits Times, excavation of the station sites is expected to commence mid-2019. Meanwhile, excavation has begun on the western launch shaft for the tunnel drives towards HarbourFront station.
