CCL6 - A snapshot in February 2025

Aerial views of the 4 civil contracts along the main line section of the project in early
February 2025.
Top (L - R): CC30 - Keppel, CC31 - Cantonment
Bottom (L - R): CC32 - Prince Edward Road, Contract 886

With the Circle Line stage 6 (CCL6) due to open by the first half of 2026, we're about a year and a half away from the section's completion. Most of the stations' exits have had the roof structures installed and works were transitioning towards the completion of architectural, mechanical & electrical components. We take a closer look at the progress made at the various stations and sites along the project after the jump.

CC30 - Keppel (Contract 882)
In a nutshell: Roofing works for the station's exits were largely completed, including the covered linkway between Exits 1 and 3. At Exit 3, the first trial set of cladding had been installed, which featured grey post and glass splash guards. Wires could be seen hung from the ceilings where ceiling panels would eventually be hung as well. Once the subway connecting Exit 2 to the station box is completed, the existing pedestrian overhead bridge near Exit 3 is likely to be decommissioned.

CC31 - Cantonment (Contract 883)
In a nutshell: Works at the station have seen Exits 1, 2 and 4 move well into the architectural installation phase of works. Exit 3, however, remains at the structural work phase with the roof sections still being installed. The most advanced of the three station exits is Exit 4, with beige cladding and glass panels being added to the side of the structure.

CC32 - Prince Edward Road (Contract 885)
In a nutshell: Over at the final station along the section, works were ramping up further with the ventilation and ancillary buildings undergoing cladding work as well. The station exits were also further along in architectural finishes, with the sidewalk near Exit 1 being closed to pedestrian traffic for installation works to take place. A closer inspection from the other side of the exit revealed the installation of the ceiling panels. Cladding works were also beginning at the emergency escape shaft between stations, located along Cantonment Road.

Contract 886 - Tunnels from Prince Edward Road to Marina Bay station
In a nutshell: The slip roads connecting Straits Boulevard to the Marina Coastal Expressway and Sheares Avenue were finally in their permanent alignments. Work in the vicinity of the contract were focused on reinstatement and landscaping of the area where the former temporary roadway was being removed. At the turnback sidings, work was underway for the closure of the temporary tunnel openings used during the trackworks installation period. The emergency escape shaft along Park Street was fully clad while backfilling works were in progress at the temporary shafts. Demolition of the earth retaining & stabilising structures was also under way.
