C885 - Prince Edward Road update February 2024

Works at Prince Edward Road station have been progressing with more of the surface structures of the station becoming visible. Eventually, there will be approximately 3 ancillary buildings for ventilation & cooling towers, in addition to the station's 2 exits. In addition, there is also a mid-tunnel emergency exit along Keppel Road that has since taken shape. This exit would allow for evacuation from the stacked bored tunnels that run between Prince Edward Road and Cantonment stations in the event of an emergency. There are similar exits located along the Circle Line, such as on either side of the Kallang Basin and near Promenade before the line crosses over Marina Bay.

With the concrete structures of the station and emergency exits up, it is likely that architectural and mechanical & electrical works can begin. We can look forward to the installation of lift and escalators, lighting and other support systems with cladding eventually being installed as well.
