C885 - Prince Edward Road update October 2023

14 October 2023 - An aerial view of the Prince Edward Road station site.

Recently the SGMC team visited the Westin Hotel and took in a bit of a view of the downtown area. We had the opportunity to admire the views of Prince Edward Road. It seems that they have since completed the station roof slab and covered up most of the underground structures. Some surface-level elements are now becoming more apparent. But we'll let the pictures do the talking.

14 October 2023 - A view of the western end of the station box where the launch shaft used to be.

14 October 2023 - The section behind the Bestway Building is no longer an open pit.

14 October 2023 - At the eastern end, capping beam demolition is under way.

14 October 2023 - The hoarding represents the contract boundary between the station contract
and the neighbouring tunnel contract.

Works to demolish the capping beam of the diaphragm walls is now underway with most of the soil back-filled above the completed station structure. This represents a significant milestone in the station's completion and brings us a step closer to the line coming full circle. Do stay tuned for more updates in time to come.

This post will also be available on Instagram & Facebook on 26 October 2023.
