C882 - Keppel update Q2 2023

The Circle Line is progressing towards final loop closure with the addition of 3 stations along a 4km route between HarbourFront and Marina Bay terminals. Bored tunneling works between the stations have been completed for some time now while work continues on at the stations and cut & cover tunnels at the Marina Bay area. At the surface level, it is difficult to tell how much progress has been achieved. However by estimates, it is anticipated that the three stations should achieve basic structure completion some time this year with the exits to follow thereafter. Join us as we explore the progress under contract 882 for Keppel station.

Keppel station will be the largest of the 3 stations under stage 6 of the Circle Line. The station will feature 4 tracks, which include 2 cripple sidings parallel to the station platform. On the eastern end of the station, a future usable space is catered for, extending from the station concourse. It is likely that this space will be developed for future commercial & retail offerings.

Works at the station box site have reached the roof slab level, with several pillars visible at ground level to support future structures above such as covered linkways or station exit roofing. Back filling work had commenced last year and have progressed a little. The decking that was previously located near the site of back filling has since been removed to allow works to proceed.

Over at the site of the exit across from the main station box, concrete casting works are ongoing. Unfortunately due to a lack of vantage points, we are unable to determine the level at which works are being carried out, unlike one of the exits at Cantonment station.
