Last week the Ministry of transport revealed the final locations of the 3 stations that made up Circle Line stage 6. The three stations are tentatively called Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward for their proximity to roads with the same names.
Keppel station, like its predecessors on the East Coast Line, will feature underground bicycle parking. As the port area is set to be redeveloped, this provides a clean slate for future development of the waterfront city. By including bicycle parking in the station, it allows for bicycle networks to be built in the waterfront area, allowing enthusiasts and casual commuters alike to enjoy a clean and green mode of transport.

Cantonment station will feature heritage at its core being located under the old Malayan Railway station platforms. In line with the heritage theme, the station is designed to mimic the architecture of the iconic railway station above while preserving the main building itself.

Prince Edward station is named after Prince Edward Road, on which Singapore's first polytechnic stood. The Bestway Building was the home of Singapore Polytechnic in the 1950's and sat along Prince Edward Road. Hence it is apt to retain the name Prince Edward for its historical significance.
